If you're lost: He's the guy who's getting an ungodly amount of press because of his upcoming Terminator: Salvation. The reason I hate him is because of his name, yes, and because he did the two Charlie's Angels movies, some other crappy film, and yet another crappy film. And he calls himself McG. Did I mention that? McG. Guy's a walking meat patty.

I haven't seen enough to have an opinion of his stuff (though the few minutes of Charlie's Angels I saw were pure terror) but the name McG wasn't his idea, others started calling him that, short for his last name McGinty (or something) and it stuck. It happens. One of my best friends goes by a name given to him long ago in middle or high school. It doesn't even make any sense. What does it matter?
A lot of people call me "The Lord" trying to be cute but thankfully it's never caught on. I may be delusional, but not that much.

That probably means he registered under "McG" on the Director's Guild. That was his choice. He wanted to be known, professionally, as McG, I assume because McRib was already taken or something.
